a prayer to grow wings
i spent a couple hours painting in the studio, time just for me. this is what came out. i can't say i like it or i don't like it. it felt good putting paint to paper and now i'm moving on.

For years and years I struggled
just to love my life. And then
the butterfly
rose, weightless, in the wind.
"Don't love your life
too much," it said,
and vanished
into the world.

Katie, I missed you at LJ and came looking for you and what do I find but a beautiful painting and a wish to grow wings. I was just listening to this song and thinking about growing wings myself. Here you go: http://www.evatree.com/shiningstar.html
