surpassing the sounds of ordinary speech - Take 2
*sold* I re-did the painting i posted a couple days ago, something just bothered me about it, and try as i might, i couldn't make it right. So i pasted the face of the sketch i did today and touched her up with colored pencils; I like this version much better.
wow, katie! your sketch and re-do are amazing. i need to try your 20 minute idea. and i often go back and redo my paintings. i'm in the process of doing that now!
I like this re-do a lot too. Thanks for your comment on my blog.
I'm due in early February! I hope your daughter is feeling better now. I remember she wasn't doing well at all her 1st trimester. I had a great 1st tri, and my 2nd and 3rd have been not as good with physical pain. But I'm hanging in!
Looks great! Neat trick with fixing the face. I love that spirit of trying whatever works, and collage definitely lends itself. This is beautiful, and the drawing the face comes from is beautiful too.
"Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself. But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires: To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night. To know the pain of too much tenderness. To be wounded by your own understanding of love; And to bleed willingly and joyfully. To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving; To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy; To return home at eventide with gratitude; And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips." From 'The Prophet' by Kahlil Gibran

this is great! The redo definitely works better with the overall mood of the piece.
I love the piece. The face really goes so well with it too!
