more practice
today's drawing; i noticed my emotions ran the gamut of excitement to frustration to determination to intense observation, etc.... so far i've been keeping my comittment to myself and drawing every day for 20 minutes --- YAY me!!!
Glad to hear that you're sticking with drawing everyday. I love to draw...I think it's because it forces me to slow down, breathe and really see. It really is all about seeing shapes, light and shadow. Breaking it down into simple parts. Good metaphor for dealing with life, isn't it? :)
Katie, you deserve a prize for practicing your drawing. Something about drawing makes me antsy... I guess I find it hard to slow down, breathe, and maybe I don't really want to see. (Thanks to Bridgette for saying that.) Hm-m-m, my metaphor for life seems to be "hurry up." I wish I would take the time to learn to draw. Sally
"Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself. But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires: To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night. To know the pain of too much tenderness. To be wounded by your own understanding of love; And to bleed willingly and joyfully. To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving; To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy; To return home at eventide with gratitude; And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips." From 'The Prophet' by Kahlil Gibran
